Dr Timothy Musila

Dr Timothy Musila qualified as a Medical Doctor from Makerere University Medical School in 1993. He then worked as a Medical Officer in Jinja hospital, before joining Kim Medical Centre as Medical Director. Dr Musila joined Kampala City Council as a Medical Officer in 1998 after acquiring a Masters degree in Community Health from the University of Innsbruck in Austria. There, he worked in various capacities as a Division Medical Officer and as a Senior Medical Officer in charge of health planning in Kampala District. He joined the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine for a Diploma and The London School of Economics and Political Science, where he successfully obtained a Masters degree in Health Policy, Planning and Financing. He possesses key competencies in community health, health services management, health economics, health policy analysis, economic analysis and evaluation in health, and economics of health care systems.Dr Musila is presently a Senior Health Planner in the Directorate of Planning and Development in the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uganda, where he heads the Public-Private Partnership in Health Coordination Unit. He led the process of drafting and enactment of the National Policy on PPPs in Health. He is currently working with various partners to institutionalize PPPs in Health in the health sector.
